HEJAB MELAKA by Baxter Jackson

HEJAB MELAKA by Baxter Jackson

BLACK AND WHITE
by Holly Day

my body is too small to take your words anymore
scream myself awake to putrid memories of you
your anticipation festers inside of me

I am not your handpuppet, mister

last night I dreamed about your fingers on my flesh
the linoleum pattern of the laundryroom
I wish I wasn't as stupid as you think

MANNEQUIN WITH BLUR
by Evan Myquest

an acrylic mannequin
all angular and clear and rainbow shards
held together with chrome bones
handheld computer game controllers for nipples
a p38 flying tiger revell model plane
for the vagina
a hunting vignette engraved pocket watch for navel
two maoist little red books for eyes
two bozo's circus jack in the boxes for hands
a neon blue louise brooks wig
sardonic joker lego red lips with lego white teeth
an iPad in its chest abdomen looped beetlejuice
all this
and an HO gauge model train in bumble bee yellow and black
at its feet
i wanted to make something of this thing
but it was beyond me what it expressed
i was an old tourist
looking in a shop window in a strange land
where tomorrow i would take a train
almost faster than sound
past farms where dogs pull carts with milk cans
i will watch the lush green blur and sigh
